Learn tips and find guides on how to train like a professional boxer.

Training for professional boxing is a grueling and challenging activity. It tests not only the physical limits of the boxer but his mental capacities as well.

A boxer needs a training regimen that should encompass 5 different areas: endurance, strength, speed, explosive power, and tactics. With these varied training focuses are also varied training methods. This means that the whole boxer training program should have a customized schedule that aims for the mastery of all the five areas.

Endurance training is needed because it gauges how long you could stay inside the ring. Jumping and footwork drills are some examples, but this can only be done just by varying the pacing of the sparring training. Developing one`s strength is also needed for it complements that of endurance.

Speed and explosive power in a boxer's training regimen is required so that he could score punches more effectively and with greater impact in each and every fight. A training schedule for this would most probably require a routine where both upper and lower body power is developed.

Tactics training schedules are most commonly done so that the boxer could imbibe the much-needed strategies that could be done inside the ring. Boxing is not just about sparring but is also about out-thinking the opponent in a match.

Training for professional boxing will always have its sacrifices: blood, sweat, and tears are staples in a boxer`s life. But with a holistic boxing training program and a strategic schedule, one could very well be on the way to the top.
